Hello, I have had an account via Gmail running on my Android while I didn't login yet on my iPhone. I have done this today and all cards added additionally via iPhone are now completely gone after it synced with the account. What did I do wrong?

Hi Benjamin! I have checked our cloud servers for your Gmail address and I can confirm that there are 15 cards in the Stocard account you registered with Google. However, I'm afraid, whenever you log into an existing Stocard account all cards that are currently on this device will be removed and will get replaced with the cards in your account instead because you are basically restoring a backup. We apologise for the inconvenience this now causes for you. However, now that are you are logged into your account on both device all new cards that are added will automatically get synchronised with your account and all other connected devices.

Thanks for the quick response but this should have been made clear before logging in and I have lost a few of the cards I had set up in my iPhone. Why is there no choice provided for the customer to either overwrite from a backup or simply merge existing cards together? To be honest, that has set me back so much I don't think I will continue to use this tool any longer.

Hello again, I am truly sorry about this! I'm afraid though, that this is usually the case when restoring a backup and we do show a warning message within the app in order to make our users aware of this process. Nevertheless, we of course understand how you feel about this incident and again sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.

Hi Isabelle, quick response, wow, again thanks. In my case though I don't recall any warning message popping up. It was simply a matter of logging in with my Gmail account under settings -> account, then just confirming the existing pre-logged in Google account (no password needed) and then it jumped back to the main screen showing me the reduced number of cards coming from the backup. So either the warning was super small and I didn't notice it or in my case it simply hasn't shown up. There was definitely no pop up or something similar.

Hi Benjamin, we show this message on the account login screen before you select your chose login method. I do agree with you though that we should make this more visible to make sure that all of our users are aware of the fact that their current cards will be reset when logging into another Stocard account. I will make sure that this will be changed within the app in the future.
